Christ The
King enhances all the liturgies with beautiful music that reflects the readings
of the day. The 4:30 PM Saturday Mass is
Cantor led with piano music. The 8:30 AM
Mass, consisting of the Contemporary Music Group and Cantor, is accompanied by
piano while the 11:00 AM Mass is led by the Traditional Choir and Cantor singing
selections with both organ and piano.
We welcome
talented new singers and instrumentalists interested in sharing their gifts with
the parish. Rehearsal time for the 8:30
AM group is after the Mass and our 11:00 AM choir rehearsals are on Tuesday
evenings at 6:45 PM.
We routinely
host ensembles of strings, woodwinds or brass for various liturgies. Our musical celebration of the liturgical
year is built around a basic collection of choral music that lends itself to
congregational singing. The ministry of
the pastoral musician is geared towards reaching out to the hearts and minds of
the parishioners and encouraging active participation within the Mass, bringing
the liturgy to life. Along with this
repertoire, various chants, motets, solos and instrumental pieces are added
throughout the year.
If you are
interested in participating in the musical liturgy as a vocalist or
instrumentalist, please contact Lucia Huskey, Director of Music and Liturgy, at
