Dear Parents, Welcome back! I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable summer. I’ve been busy making plans for the school year and am very excited about working with my new students and you! For those whom I haven’t met, I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you by giving you a brief background sketch of my teaching career. After graduation for Father Ryan High School, I attended the University of Mississippi where I graduated with a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Elementary Education. While playing on the varsity women’s golf team, I earned Academic All- SEC honors. My teaching career began with the Metro-Davidson County school system. During my eight years at McGavock Elementary I taught first, second, and third grades. My classes included traditional, multi-age, nongraded, inclusive, holistic, and classes that looped. Since 2000, I have taught first grade here at Christ the King. I have been fortunate to receive several professional distinctions. Included are the following: in 1996, the Channel 5 “Golden Apple” award; in 2000, “Teacher of the Year” at McGavock Elementary and “Teacher of the Year” by the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce. In 2001, I received “Teacher of the Year” from Christ the King and the Channel 2 “Educator of the Week” in 2006. I look forward to forming an educational partnership with you and your children. If you ever have any questions or concerns the easiest way to reach me is at stephanie.wyatt@ctk.org. I will do my best to contact you by the end of the day. Sincerely, Stephanie Wyatt back to First Grade home |
