Curriculum Notes
    What we learned this week (May 17-21):
    Math—Adding/subtracting Fractions
    Science—Forces of Motion
    Social Studies—The West region
    Religion—The gifts of the Holy Spirit

Presidential Coin
The latest presidential dollar for Franklin Pierce was released on May 20th. You may bring in $1.00 on Monday to receive one. The first quarter in the “America the Beautiful” series featuring Hot Springs National Park has also been released and you can obtain one of those for $0.25. Please bring all money in an envelope marked with your name.

Field Day
Field Day for 1st-8th grade is Monday, May 24th. It looks like we are going to have great weather for it. Please pray that we will have great weather. We will be outside for the majority of the day. Please put sunscreen on before school and bring an extra changes of clothes (including undergarments), and a towel. You may also want to bring a water bottle but please make sure your name is on it. Don’t forget to wear your specified color.

Books
If you are selling any of your child’s textbooks in the used uniform and book sale on Friday, May 28, please turn them in to me no later than Wednesday, May 26. Please make sure the envelopes are filled out with the correct information before returning them to school. The Social Studies and English textbooks are rentals and cannot be sold.

Forensics Demonstration
On Thursday afternoon, 4th graders were treated to a Forensics demonstration led by the 5th graders. This helped the 4th grade to see what Forensics is all about. If they are interested in participating in Forensics, you can sign them up at registration in August.
