"How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers. " Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Welcome to 5th Grade!Ms. Cindy Unwin, TeacherI am very happy to be welcoming a new group of students to my classroom. Fifth grade is a very special year here at Christ the King School. Not only are students entering through the glass doors of the junior high wing, they will be experiencing a lot of positive growth and changes academically, socially, and spiritually. Being prepared and organized for each day is a big responsibility that we work on in 5th grade. Communication between parents, students, and myself is a priority that will help achieve this goal. Knowledge of what to expect through the daily planner and teacher newsletters is key to keeping up on what is happening in our classroom. I also welcome parents to call or e-mail with any questions or concerns that may come up through the course of the year. This year is going to be a very special year for our students. The decision to try a team teaching approach to math and reading will be done between Mrs. Wagner and myself. I will be responsible for teaching the 4th and 5th grade reading program, and Mrs. Wagner will be teaching 4th and 5th grade math. To maximize class time, I will travel to Mrs. Wagner’s room and she will travel to 5th grade. The students will not need to relocate classrooms. This is a new venture in education and teaching for us, and we are both very excited to give it a try! Please check back on the 5th grade web page through out the year, as newsletters, information on projects, and other helpful items are posted as the year rolls along. Have a wonderful school year, Ms Unwin |
