Christ the King School’s Sixth Grade Class2009-2010
Students will use their K-5 foundation to experience more challenging
activities, such as research projects, biographies, correspondence,
seminars, and construction competitions. During the first few weeks, we will concentrate on self discipline in class and at mass. At least once a week, we will have mini-lessons to promote character traits. Our classroom behavior plan uses four colored cards. If a student has broken a rule, a card is removed from that student’s envelope. The first day’s infraction is a warning without a card being removed. The second infraction results in the loss of ten minutes of recess. The third infraction results in the loss of 20 minutes of recess. The fourth infraction results in a phone call to a parent. If the student has four infractions, they will be referred to the principal. The new warning is daily. The infractions are collected weekly. The consequences occur only once for each card removal. If the student is fighting, all cards are removed and an immediate conduct referral is written. The reward for students following the rules is to cook and eat a snack on Friday. We plan to make snacks or drinks for all those who have shown good behavior. Teacher’s Mission Statement I hope to create a challenging, yet enjoyable environment that enables each student to learn what is necessary to become successful in life. |
