July 27, 2010 Dear Eighth Grade Parents, I’m delighted to welcome you and your child to eighth grade at Christ the King School! Junior high is an important time of learning in life and I am pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to that learning. I enjoy working with junior high students because they are critical thinkers, they have great senses of humor, and they are developing their gifts and talents for adulthood. I believe learning should be FUN and I hope to pass this passion along to my students. I strive to instill a sense of independence and responsibility in my classroom to encourage my students to grow into organized and confident ladies and gentlemen. A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME: I am originally from Austin, Texas and I have lived in Nashville for six years. I received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin and my Master of Education from Vanderbilt University. After graduating, I began working at St. Matthew School and Christ the King. This will be my fifth year teaching at Christ the King and I am very excited to share the 2010-11 school year with your child! SMART CARD FUNDRAISER: Your child should have received a postcard in the mail with information about our first fundraiser, Smart Cards. You or your child can pick up Smart Cards at Registration on August 9th or on the first day of school. The fundraiser will run from August 9th-September 13th. COMMUNICATION: Eighth grade is a busy year and we will have lots of things going on. I will do my best to communicate with you in a timely and efficient manner regarding 8th grade events. I prefer to use email for communication of immediate and pertinent information. If you would like me to email you at a different address, or remove an address from this email list, please let me know as soon as possible. CONTACT INFORMATION: I am always interested in learning more about my students; especially things that will help me better meet their needs and assist them with their academic development. Please feel free to contact me during the year with any information that will help me do this. You may leave a message for me at school (467-1098) or email me at louisa.willson@ctk.org. Thank you for the opportunity to teach your child this school year! I know we will have a great time! Love, ![]() | ||||||||
