The following are some links to local
art resources that would provide wonderful enrichment for your child.
One of the best ways to teach your child about art is to visit local
galleries, take workshops together, and be inspired by the wonderful
exhibits at our local museums. I will be adding to these throughout
the year and will encourage students to do art and think about art in
their lives outside of school. When you model an interest in and
appreciation for art and creativity in many forms (from gallery
exhibits to architecture to fashion and product design), you have a
powerful impact on your child and show them that art is an important
and relevant subject.

Please check out the Art Scene on the bulletin board outside the art
room for current openings and exhibits. (There are several great ones
iwth openings coming up and a wonderful Egyptian exhibit with
kid-friendly audio tour at the Frist which is closing soon!)
Please note that I will not be able to
screen gallery openings and exhbits, so it is recommended that you call and ask about
the age-appropriateness of exhibits before taking your child.
