Welcome to Kindergarten!

Dear Parents:

Welcome to kindergarten! This is a new and exciting time for you and your child. By working together, we can make it a happy experience.

Please be sure your child is at school every day unless he/she is sick. Kindergarten is a continuous experience with each day's learning built on the day before, and haphazard attendance will not benefit your child's learning experiences. If your child must be absent, be sure you call the school and also send a note of explanation each time he/she is absent.

Your checklist:
_____ 1. Your child will receive a snack time each day at 9:40am. Either send a snack from home or one may be purchased from the cafeteria.
_____ 2. Check your child on the correct use of the toilet. Your child should be able to use the restroom without the teacher helping with his/her clothing.
_____ 3. Mark all of your child's possessions (including clothing) with his/her full name.
_____ 4. When sending money for any reason, put it in an envelope labeled with your child's name and what it is for.
_____ 5. Keep the school informed of a current telephone number and address in case of an emergency.

Since being in kindergarten is such an exciting, sometimes fearful, time for your child, be sure your child arrives at school on time. Your child will report each morning to Marian Hall and wait for me to pick them up. Please be on time to pick up your child in the afternoon.

Kindergarten should be the most wonderful year a child can have. I am looking forward to working with you to make it so.

                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                Marilyn Hassell
