April 16, 2010
First Grade Parents,
Your child will be performing their first musical, The Little Red Hen,
on Thursday, April 29th at 2:15 in the music room. They have been
having a great time working on this program. Hope many of you
will be able to join us on the 29th.
Thanks, Betty Marina
Welcome
back to school. I am very excited about the new school
year. I hope the children will learn many new things about music
and have fun while doing it.
My name is Betty Marina. This
will be my sixth year to teach music here at Christ the King. I
graduated from Belmont College with a degree in Elementary
Education. I am certified to teach Kindergarten through ninth
grade. In 2003, I retired from Robertson County where I taught
for 32 years. I began my teaching career in Springfield, Tn
teaching third grade for six years. After 12 years in Springfield
I transferred to White House and taught second grade. I taught
second grade for 26 years. While I was at White House I became a
Career ladder II teacher.
Teaching music K-8 has been a real
challenge, but I have really enjoyed it. My mission as a music
teacher is to give students opportunities to express themselves
musically, to encourage them by giving them various activities to match
their varied learning style. I want to foster a strong desire in
them to continue exploring all aspects of music. I want all my
students to develop a deep love for music that will always be a part of
their lives.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at betty.marina@ctk.org and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Looking forward to a great year,
Betty Marina
