Dear Christ the King School Families,

Only a few more weeks until the holiday begin to arrive. I know things are getting hectic and there is a lot going on. I encourage you to look at the flyers attached to my letter—the 8th grade Poinsettia Sale, Boys Scouts events, Christmas Tree Sale by the Athletic Association, Second Grade Popcorn Sale and the Cocoa service project. I can only mention things as I don’t want to bog you down with too long of a letter.

I just want to remind you about our SACS district accreditation visit next Tuesday, November 18. The principals meet on Monday with the team at the Catholic Center and then two members will be visiting our school. We are excited to share all the good things about CKS with them.

We are excited to welcome back Mrs. St. Charles from maternity leave. The Jr. High will be blessed with both Mrs. Pyburn and Mrs. St. Charles working with the children during the transition. A great “Thank You” to Mrs. Pyburn for her commitment, passion and love for CKS as our 7th grade teacher.

As you know, our voice mail has been down. Our server crashed for the telephone system and our system is so old that the parts are obsolete. The Campus Building Committee is researching a fix for the system but we have a new voice mail system in the interim. Teachers are in the process of setting up the voice boxes for next week—the main office voice system is set up. Next week, we will send a notice with all the voice mail numbers. I apologize for any frustration this has caused.

The Green Team for our school would like to encourage folks to think about their use of our creation’s resources. Please take the short quiz to see how much impact your use has on our world. It is a fun lesson with the kids to raise awareness. You can find the quiz at
http://www.myfootprint.org/en/.

Don’t forget to turn in your Thanksgiving Luncheon reservations by Tuesday and your used uniform items by next Wednesday.

Note that interim grades close next Tuesday, November 18. Students should have all work completed and handed in. Teachers will exchange grades on Friday and interim report cards sent home on Tuesday, November 25.

Please note that Tuesday, November 25 is a full day of school. We ask that you help the teachers maintain as much academic time as possible by not taking your student out for early travel or after the luncheon.

Have a great weekend but stay bundled up with the drop in temperatures.

Peace,

Principal
