Hello! My name is Carmen Leticia Cogley de Harris, and I am the Spanish teacher. It is my third year at Christ the King Catholic School and I am excited to be a part of this 2008/2009 school year. I hope everyone had an enjoyable summer and is ready for this new school year. I reside in the Bellevue area with my husband Michael, Daphne and a dog I rescued two years ago whom I named Big Boy. I know that Michael and Daphne are native to Nashville but I’m not sure about Big Boy. While this is my home now, I am originally from Puerto Rico. Most of my young adulthood and up through college was spent in New York. Since leaving New York I have lived and traveled extensively throughout the United States, and have lived in Spain and Mexico. My undergraduate Major is in Spanish Education with English as my minor. My graduate degree is in Curriculum and Instruction with English as a second language as area of concentration. Personal Mission Statement
My
focus is to make Spanish fun so that my students want to pursue
studying this language well beyond my tenure with them. I am
committed to: knowing my students as ndividuals, encouraging
students by finding something right in what they do, preparing lessons
that relate to my students’ lives, and reflecting and changing a lesson
if learning is not taking place. |
